3.       What is social disorder? What are different ways of readjustment of deviant behavior?     4
4.       Define social change. What are the main cause of social change?                                        4
5.       What is global stratification? Briefly explain and the “Modernization theory”                    4
6.       What are the consequences of global stratification on quality of life and education?           4

October 1 – Purchased Sewing machine Tk 10,000.
October 7 – Purchased goods on credits Tk. 20,000.
October 9 – Sales by cash Tk.- 90000
October 17- Mrs. Shelly withdrawn for her personal use tk 2000.

October 21- Rent unpaid Tk 8000.

1. a. Complete the sentences with the correct passive form of the verbs.       6*.5=3

I. I can play the music.
II. I will send an email to you.
III. My friend prepared a pizza yesterday.
IV. I have already completed the task.
V. She is doing an online course.
VI. We must look after our parents.

b. Complete the sentences with the correct passive form of the verbs in brackets. Use the Past Simple.   6*.5= 3

I.  My Book _____ (steal) last week.
II. This computer programme _______(not write) by Bill Gates.
III. The bridge __________ (build) ten years ago.
IV. The plane ________________( not damaged) in the runway.
V. Some factories ___________(establish) after the Liberation War of Bangladesh.

2. Comment on the situations. Write sentences using first conditional.      6*1=6

a.       Saif might pass in his class test. If he does, he will not sit for it again.
b.       Bangladesh may lose the match. If the do, Marshrafee will be disappointed.
c.       The market may be closed. In that case, you cannot by anything.
d.       My manager may reach the office early. If he does, I may talk to him about my salary.
e.       The university might not be closed. If it does not, we can study  in the library.
f.        Enam may miss the train. But he can get the next one.

3. Sentences are given in the direction speech. Change them into indirect speech.   6*1=6

a.       He said, “I have got a car”
b.       Maruf said, “I was very upset”
c.       He said to us, “I will work hard for the exam”
a.       He Told Her, “I am working in my office”
b.       She said, “I have gone to college”
c.       My Friend told me, “I will meet you in Chittagong”

4. What can you say in these situations? Write sentences using the tense in brackets.    6*1 = 6

a.       A friend is at your flat and suggests going out, but you can see rain outside. You don’t want to go out now. (Present Continuous)
b.       Someone in the street asks you about an address. But you are sorry that you don’t know. (Present Indefinite)
c.       Shakib started bowling in the fifth over of the match, and he still looks for a wicket. (Present perfect continuous)
d.       You had to face a job test. You were there for one hour. (past continuous)
e.       You are reading a book, and you  just finished it. (present perfect)
f.        You have already bought a train ticket to Dhaka; you also booked a hotel room. You are ready for Dhaka tomorrow. (Present Continuous)

5. Comment on the following situations. Write appropriate sentences using modal verbs: could, may, might, must                           6*1=6

a.       I played good football in my school life. Now I don’t play _________,
b.       I haven’t decided if I’m going on a holiday___________
c.       Parents are most respected. You advise you younger brother about it._________
d.       I’ve no idea whether Saifur will be late___________,
e.       A new office hour is scheduled. And your manager tells you to be careful about it._______
f.        You see cloud in the sky. It’s not very dark, but there is a probability of rain. _______

6. Traffic Jam is big problem in Chittagong. What do you think about it? What are the reasons and how do we all suffer? What are some solutions for this problem? Write a five-paragraph essay on Traffic Jam in Chittagong.
